FAQS

What is Friday 5?
Friday 5 harnesses social influencers to raise funds for causes that matter. Friday 5 makes it easy for people to donate to charities that their favorite influencers support.

How does Friday 5 work?
Each week, a different influencer is featured on the site, along with a nonprofit of their choice. Everyone who signs up automatically donates $5 to that week’s charity. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular, a registered 501c3, to help fight diabetes & obesity in the U.S. So each week you’re supporting not just 1 charity, but 2!

How is my credit card charged?
Donations are processed by Network For Good and each week, you will be emailed a receipt for your donation. Donations are 100% tax deductible. Network for Good is a registered 501c3 organization and since 2001 they have processed over $1 billion in donations for over 100,000 nonprofits. If you have questions or need a duplicate receipt, contact [email protected]

How do donations get from Friday 5 to the nonprofits?
Network For Good processes your credit card and collects all the donations made on our site. Then, they disburse the funds directly to the featured nonprofit, along with a portion going to Sports Spectacular. The credit card processing fee charged by Network for Good is 4%, and we offer donors the chance to cover this fee so that more money goes to Sports Spectacular and the featured charity. And again, this means you are supporting not 1 charity, but 2, since Sports Spectacular is a nonprofit too.

Can I choose not to donate to that week’s featured charity?
Hopefully all the nonprofits will be interesting and impactful to you, but you cannot opt out if it doesn’t. Instead we hope that you will take this opportunity to learn more about each week’s charity, and if that week doesn’t excite you, then don’t worry, next Friday come around soon enough!

How do I cancel my donation subscription or update my credit card info?
Hopefully you will continue to support and won’t have to cancel, but if you do need to, we make it simple. Email us at [email protected] and we will help you out.

Where did FRIDAY5 start?
The concept of FRIDAY5 was originally founded by Mike Berman, Ian Carrico, and Ryan Lottering. It was then acquired by Five Dollar Friday LLC, which created a new platform, and now owns and operates the site.
