Friday 5 for July 4: Food Television
Happy Independence Day to our U.S. Fivers! Please copy these questions to your online journal. Answer the questions there, then leave a comment below telling us where we can check out your responses! Please don’t forget to link us from your website!
- If a traveling food show were to visit your neighborhood, what are some unique, regional foods it would spotlight, and where would it go to get them?
- On an American cable show, a celebrity chef surprises people by challenging them to a contest featuring their own specialties (he usually loses). If he challenged you to your specialty, what dish would you prepare? If he challenged someone you know, what would that dish be, and how might the competition turn out?
- What are your feelings about cooking shows on television?
- What kitchen gadgets have you purchased because you saw someone using them on television?
- You get to (or have to, depending on how you feel about it) host your own food show on television. What will it be called and what’s it about?
Thanks for playing, and have a delicious weekend!

1. If a traveling food show were to visit your neighborhood, what are some unique, regional foods it would spotlight, and where would it go to get them? I am not really sure. There is a wide variety of foods in this area. I guess they show would focus on the down home cooking
2. On an American cable show, a celebrity chef surprises people by challenging them to a contest featuring their own specialties (he usually loses). If he challenged you to your specialty, what dish would you prepare? If he challenged someone you know, what would that dish be, and how might the competition turn out? I am not a good cook and I do not have a specialty dish. Unless you count easy peanut butter cookies which only has three ingredients. My sister-in-law is a great cook…she could dazzle him with her cakes and candies.
3. What are your feelings about cooking shows on television? I love them! My favorite show is Good Eats.
4. What kitchen gadgets have you purchased because you saw someone using them on television? None
5. You get to (or have to, depending on how you feel about it) host your own food show on television. What will it be called and what’s it about? I would like to host a traveling food show…going around the world trying different foods.

My cranky/snarky answer is posted. I’ll warn you: I am not a foodie, and I don’t play one on TV.
